Supported Decision Making Agreements
This session will begin with an overview of the spectrum of decision-making options available for people with disabilities, then turn the focus to Wisconsin's (relatively) new Supported Decision-Making law. We will discuss who is eligible to use supported decision-making agreements, the role and responsibility of the "supporter," functions and limitations of the agreements, protections available for creators, and practical use of the agreements for people with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who work with them. The interplay between these agreements and other decision-making vehicles will also be explored.
